In what could be another sign of tough economic times, La Tavola has closed.

The Dublin-area restaurant, owned by Rick and Krista Lopez, lasted about three years at 6125 Riverside Drive.

A recorded message at the restaurant says, in part: "Unfortunately, La Tavola is now closed for business. Thank you for the many years of patronage."

A sign on the door expresses a similar sentiment: "La Tavola is closed until further notice. Thank you Columbus. We will miss you."

Neither of the Lopezes could be reached for comment.

The restaurant has been in business in some form since 1999, operating in various locations as La Crescendo and La Tavola.

The 3,980-square-foot location on Riverside Drive was home to other restaurants, such as Gibby's Riverview and then Riverview, both of which had different ownership teams.
