During a ceremony in Arkansas May 16, Brig. Gen. Christopher Cline, a Dublin resident, was given command of the Army Reserve's 90th Regional Readiness Command.

According to a news release from the Army, the ceremony was the final transition of command for the unit before its inactivation later this year.

The 90th RRC houses the Legal Support Organization, which will be transferred to the Legal Command later this year.

Cline will command both the 90th RRC and Legal Command.

The city of Dublin has extended a deadline for grant applications for the 2010 bicentennial celebration.

Dublin City Council appropriated $50,000 from the city's hotel tax for projects that will celebrate the bicentennial. Grants will be awarded to nonprofit, federally recognized organizations.

Organizations seeking a grant can submit 10 copies of a proposal to the city's Division of Taxation, 5200 Emerald Parkway, until 5 p.m. June 15.
