Several students from Dublin earned awards during the recent honors assembly at Columbus Academy in Gahanna.

Derek Wolf received the Kenneth Scott Garlikov Award for outstanding qualities of citizenship, ethical conduct and academic distinction. He also received the Goodwin Cup for science and the Service Board Award of Merit.

Alex Johnson also received the Service Board Award of Merit.

Byron Viets received the James W. Stahl Cup, awarded to the male athlete in the graduating class who has made the greatest contribution to athletics.

Dublin residents Wolf, Johnson, Viets, David Gantos and Peter Paras III were members of the Columbus Academy graduating class. Columbus Academy's commencement was held Friday, June 12.

Jasjit Butalia, a student at Karrer Middle School, has been chosen to attend the Young Women's Summer Institute at Ohio State University.

YWSI supports the state's efforts in science, technology, engineering and math education by encouraging young women to take an interest in math and science.

Butalia is one of 15 elementary and middle school girls from six Ohio counties chosen to attend the program.
