Resident dies in fall

Dennis Roma, 52, of Dublin, died last week after falling from a golf cart at the Country Club at Muirfield Village on Aug. 12. Roma died Tuesday, Aug. 18, at Riverside Methodist Hospital.

According to Dublin police spokesman Michael Racey, the police department "concluded (that) what turned out to be a fatal fall from a golf cart was simply a tragic accident."

Roma is survived by his wife of 26 years, Joanie Roma; daughters Kimberly Roma of Knoxville, Tenn., Jessica Roma of Columbus and Michelle Roma of Dublin; parents Tony and Jackie Roma; brother Mike (Debbie) Roma; and sisters Linda (Tom) Fucito, Cheryl Klug and Angie (Keith) Stevlingson, all of Cincinnati.

Dublin Jerome to celebrate five-year birthday

Dublin Jerome High School will welcome the community with cake and ice cream during its five-year birthday celebration from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

The celebration will include food, a performance by the band and cheerleaders, open gym, tours and more. Children's activities include face painting and balloon animals. H&R Imaging will not be at the event to take photos.

The event is free and open to the public. Jerome High School is located at 8300 Hyland-Croy Road.
