For the first time, Dublin has made a New York-based think tank's top seven list of "International Intelligent Communities."

Dublin is one of two U.S. communities on the Intelligent Community Forum list that includes Arlington County, Va.; Dundee, Scotland; Eindhoven, Netherlands; Ottawa, Ontario; Suwon, South Korea; and Tallinn, Estonia.

According to its Web site, the Intelligent Community Forum "is a think tank that studies the economic and social development of the 21st century community."

"It is a great honor to be considered in league with these global communities, and to be recognized for our efforts to keep our citizens and businesses connected to the world," Dublin City Manager Terry Foegler said in a news release. "To be named one of seven international cities awarded Intelligent Community status further solidifies Dublin's reputation as a community where you will find a highly educated work force, an entrepreneurial spirit and the infrastructure to support it."

One of the top seven communities will be named Intelligent Community of the Year in May.
