Become a certified baby sitter through the Red Cross, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, April 17, at Washington Township Community Center. For ages 11 to 15. Learn basic child care, first aid, rescue breathing, accident prevention, stages of youth development and supervision skills. Bring a sack lunch and drink to class. Cost is $40 for township residents and $45 for non-residents. Register by April 10.

Children ages 5 and older can learn about and explore the trucks, tractors and trains at the Homestead, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, June 10. See the restored caboose and a 1951 John Deere tractor. Children will make a special craft to take home. The cost is $7.50 for township residents and $12.50 for non-residents. Register by June 3.

Bring your children to the community center the second Wednesday of the month for Wacky Wednesdays, held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Celebrate Earth Day on April 14. Make a craft and learn about the importance of trees to the environment, wildlife and each of us. Identify some of the trees at the park. Participation is $1 per child.

Kooky Calendar will meet from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, through Friday, July 9, in Kaltenbach Park. For ages 4 to 6. Enjoy an Easter egg hunt, trick or treating in Halloween costumes, a Valentine's Party and the Fourth of July. Cost is $30 for township residents and $35 for non-residents. Register by June 29.

A family campout will be held the night of Friday, June 25, at the Homestead. Enjoy the fellowship of other families around the campfire, fishing, playgrounds and more. Campfire, s'mores, fishing poles and bait will be provided. Bring dinner and breakfast. Water and public toilet facilities will be open for use by participants. The cost is $15 per family for township residents and $20 per family for non-residents. Register by June 18.
