On behalf of Dublin Arts Council, I wish to extend a public thank-you to all the members of our community who recently came together in support of the arts as part of our annual Garden Party fundraiser. More than 200 people attended the event, held April 9 in the beautiful atrium of the OCLC Kilgour Building in Dublin, graciously provided by Jay Jordan, Rick Schwieterman and their fantastic staff.

As a result of the generosity of our sponsors, contributors, supporting organizations, board members, guests and participating restaurants, Dublin Arts Council is the recipient of $24,000. Monies raised by this event, our largest fundraiser of the year, allow us to continue to provide high-quality, stimulating and educational programs, exhibitions and events for Dublin residents and visitors. This year's event was hosted in honor of the many contributions of former Dublin Arts Council board member Kevin Denny, who recently lost his battle with cancer.

Special thanks are owed to many members of our community, including master of ceremonies Colleen Marshall of NBC4 and silent auction chairperson Ellen Daly, vice president and station manager of CW Columbus.

This "great cocktail party," as our guests remarked, was truly enjoyable, due in part to the local restaurants that catered to our patrons, and to Rodger Ressa of W.J. Deutsch & Sons Ltd., for providing the incredible wines for the evening. We encourage your readers to frequent these wonderful establishments and to thank them for their support of Dublin Arts Council: Bonefish Grill, Bravo Italian Kitchen, Gemini Grille Polaris, J. Liu Restaurant & Bar, Jeni's Ice Creams, Mitchell's Steakhouse, Refectory Restaurant & Bistro, Sodexo Corporate Services/The Conference Center at OCLC and The Sisters Sweet Shoppe/Krema Peanut Butter Company.

Other major contributors to the event included OCLC, WWHO-TV/CW Columbus, Natural Designs Florals, Kroger in Historic Dublin as well as corporate level group ticket patrons Cardinal Health and Wells Fargo Bank.

I'd also like to offer special acknowledgement to the entire board of Dublin Arts Council, who spearheaded the event, gathered donations for our silent auction, sold group ticket sponsorships and invited friends, neighbors and colleagues to support this organization.

Dublin Arts Council is proud to be a part of a community that values the arts and supports our programs in such a meaningful way. We encourage your readers to become involved with our organization by viewing an exhibition, attending a special event and by registering for our classes and workshops.
