Quarterback Ryan Gannon threw for 207 yards and Donovan Wilson had two touchdown runs as the Dublin Jerome High School football team defeated host Reynoldsburg 28-0 on Friday night.

"We knew they had a couple of two-way guys up front and at this level that's tough to do," said Jerome coach Mark Hundley, whose team amassed 416 yards of total offense. "We thought we could wear them down."

Wilson scored on touchdown runs of three yards and one yard, the one-yarder made it 27-0 with 5 minutes, 20 seconds left in the game. Wilson rushed 24 times for 84 yards.

Gannon threw a 64-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Bonifas midway through the third quarter to make it 21-0.

Reynoldsburg turned the ball over on its first two possessions, leading to Wilson's first touchdown run and a one-yard scoring run by Brent Mowrey.

The Raiders, who were limited to 120 yards of total offense, were led by quarterback J.C. Gibson. He rushed 10 times for 37 yards and was 3-of-6 passing for 40 yards.

Reynoldsburg's best chance to score came in the third quarter after Stanley Peterson returned a kickoff 83 yards to the Jerome 12. The Raiders ended up turning the ball over on downs, however, when Peterson was stopped short on a fourth-and-1 from the 3-yard line.

"The first half we killed ourselves offensively with turnovers," Evans said. "We had a couple of penalties that put us at second-and-20, and in our option offense we're not designed for that."

Jerome has won four consecutive openers, including three in a row against Reynoldsburg.

"We all feel great right now," Gannon said. "But as proud as we are of this win, we haven't done anything yet."
