Upper Arlington-area resident Barbara Evert was named the new vice president of medical affairs at Dublin Methodist Hospital and Grady Memorial Hospital.

Upper Arlington-area resident Barbara Evert was named the new vice president of medical affairs at Dublin Methodist Hospital and Grady Memorial Hospital.

Evert began serving in the position April 1, and her responsibilities include clinical quality and patient safety.

As a member of the hospital's leadership team, Evert will work with physicians to develop, implement and support the strategic objectives of the hospital, according to a press release from OhioHealth.

"I have such a deep respect for the OhioHealth system and all of the great work that has been going on at Dublin Methodist Hospital and Grady Memorial Hospital," Evert said. "I am humbled by the opportunity to join this team and am excited by what we will be able to accomplish together."

Evert comes to Dublin Methodist and Grady Memorial after tenure as vice president and chief medical officer at Upper Valley Medical Center.

Nicole Douglas, the daughter of Craig and Julie Douglas of Dublin, has been selected as a member of the 2011-2012 cheerleading squad of the Ohio State University.

Douglas, a Dublin Coffman High School graduate, cheered for four years on the high school's football, basketball and competition cheer teams.

At OSU, she will pursue a degree in physical therapy.
