Dublin resident Donna Winters expanded her yoga business, balanced YOGA, from Clintonville to the Dublin area.

The location at 1870 Hard Road in the Smokey Row Plaza opened recently and offers both studio classes and a teacher -training program, which Winters launched about five years ago in Clintonville.

"As the studio classes and the teacher training program continued to grow, we needed more space to meet the demand and as I watched the Dublin area continue to grow, I thought it would be a perfect location for a second studio and teacher training center," Winters said in a news release.

Winter's Yoga University requires 300 hours for base-level certification. Classes begin this fall.

An information session will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, at balanced YOGA University on Hard Road. The event will include information about the teacher-training program, a chance to practice yoga with Winters and meet recent alumni.

Registration for the session can be made by emailing Gina Derry at gina@balancedyogastudios.com.

Dublin-based OCLC last week celebrated the 40th anniversary of WorldCat, the company's database of items at libraries around the world. The OCLC online union catalog and shared cataloging system, now known as WorldCat, was launched Aug. 26, 1971. The system now includes records for more than 1.7 billion items in the libraries of OCLC members.

Resources cataloged in the system include books, e-books, DVDs, digital resources, serials, sound recordings, musical scores, maps, visual materials, mixed materials and computer files.

"We who work at OCLC are proud to have been a part of this remarkable story, and I want to thank our member institutions and employees for the years of dedicated effort that helped build this unique resource," OCLC president and CEO Jay Jordan said in a news release. "Fred Kilgour's vision improving access to information through library cooperation is every bit as vital today as it was in 1971. This anniversary is an important milestone in a shared journey that, I believe, will continue for many decades to come."

The records in WorldCat are online through search sites and at worldcat.org.
