The Central Ohio Affiliate of Young Survival Coalition has announced the honorees of the 2011 In Living Pink gala.

The Central Ohio Affiliate of Young Survival Coalition has announced the honorees of the 2011 In Living Pink gala.

These professionals have gone above and beyond, and will be recognized for their contributions to the breast cancer community during this year’s In Living Pink gala on Friday, Oct., 28.

Dr. Mark Cripe of Dublin will receive this year’s Pink Guiding Light Award for Leadership in Medicine.

The recipient of this award is nominated by the community and chosen by the YSC Leadership committee, to be awarded to a medical professional providing optimal care to breast cancer patients in the central Ohio area.

Dr. Cripe is the medical director of breast health services and director of the Breast Surgery Fellowship Program at Ohio Health’s Grant Medical Center.

His patients describe him as “compassionate, professional, caring and respectful.”

Dr. Thomas P. Houston of Dublin has been elected to serve as treasurer of the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians.

He will serve a one-year term. Officers were installed during the annual dinner, held at Marriott Columbus Northwest on Aug. 6.
