ODOT to continue work on US 33

The Ohio Department of Transportation will continue its work on the U.S. Route 33 bridge over Interstate 270 on Oct. 21 to 24.

During the work, the I-270 north to U.S. 33 west and U.S. 33 west to I-270 south ramps will be closed. Signs with detour information will be posted. For more information, look online at DublinOhioUSA.gov.

 

Welcome Warehouse in need of items

The Welcome Warehouse free shop is in need of gently used fall and winter clothing, coats and shoes for children and teens. Jeans and hoodies for children are in high demand.

Donations can be taken to the free shop between 9 and 11 a.m. Nov. 5 at Indian Run United Methodist Church, 6305 Brand Road.

The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies Inc. will send a team to Dublin on Oct. 29 to examine policy, procedures, management operations and other services of the Dublin Division of Police.

The accreditation team will review materials, interview Dublin personnel and visit locations to verify compliance with commission standards, according to a news release from the city. Dublin has volunteered to go through the accreditation process.

The assessment also will include an opportunity for community comment at 5 p.m. Oct. 31 in the courtroom at the Justice Center, 6565 Commerce Pkwy. Those who are unable to attend the public-comment session still may provide input by calling (614) 410-4801 between 1 and 3 p.m. Oct. 30.

Public comment should be limited to 10 minutes and address the police department’s ability to comply with commission standards.

Edwards Family Dental Treats for Treasure collection is Nov. 3

Edwards Family Dental will collect unopened Halloween candy for its annual Treats for Treasure collection from 2 to 6 p.m. Nov. 3.

Local residents can donate extra, unopened Halloween candy to the local dental office for $1 per pound. Donors will also receive a goodie bag with coupons to local businesses.

All collected Halloween treats and a ton of toothbrushes will be shipped to military forces abroad. Children can also bring cards and drawings to send along with the candy.

Edwards Family Dental is at 6235 Perimeter Drive.
