Dublin City Schools transportation director Jeff Cosby received an honor from the Ohio Association of School Business Officials during a recent conference.

Cosby was named 2011 transportation director of the year for his service to the district, profession and community, a news release from the Ohio Association of School Business Officials said.

Cosby has served the district and community for more than six years and has lead safety, efficiency and improvement initiatives, the release said.

“Our members are the key players responsible annually for billions of public dollars within public school districts,” said OASBO executive director David Varda. “Their successes and contributions to their profession, their districts and their communities are often a well-kept secret, so we’re excited to be able to formally recognize them through this awards program. We’re very proud of Jeff’s accomplishments.”

Cosby’s efforts have led to improved safety, less money spent and a more reliable transportation program, the release said.

The honor included a plaque for Cosby and a $500 cash award that will be given to a Dublin senior as a scholarship.
