Dublin Villager

Officer's actions lead to his firing

A Dublin police officer was fired last week as an investigation into a relationship with a teenage girl ended.

Tom Seeling was fired Oct. 9 after "the investigation found no evidence of criminal behavior related to this relationship, but recommended administrative disciplinary action for serious misconduct contrary to the core values and standards of conduct of the Dublin Division of Police," a statement from the police division said.

An investigation into Seeling's behavior began after he allegedly sent a shirtless picture of himself to a 16-year-old girl. Seeling was removed from his official duties during the investigation and reassigned to administrative work at the Dublin Justice Center.
