Vehicle strikes four pedestrians crossing Avery Road

Four pedestrians were transported to hospitals after being struck by a vehicle on Avery Road Monday evening.

At about 7 p.m. Oct.22, two women, a child and a 2-month-old infant were struck by a vehicle driven by another woman, traveling north on Avery Road, information from Dublin said.

The pedestrians were crossing Avery Road at Wexford Woods Drive from the west side.

After the accident, the older woman involved was taken to Grant Medical Hospital via Medflight and the infant was life lighted to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, both in serious condition, said public affairs officer Sue Burness.

The other adult female was transported to Riverside Hospital and the other child was taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

The incident is still under investigation, Burness said, and no charges have been filed.
