Chick-fil-A to host Christine's Christmas fundraiser
The Sawmill Road Chick-fil-A will host a Christine's Christmas Concert fundraiser and fire safety day Nov. 17.
The restaurant at 6051 Sawmill Road will raise awareness and money for Christine's Christmas, a holiday concert that raises money for the Christine Wilson Burn Center at Nationwide Children's Hospital in the name of a Dublin native who died in a fire near the Ohio State University campus in 2003.
The event will promote ticket sales to the Dec. 8 concert and donate 10 percent of all sales Nov. 17 to Nationwide Children's Hospital.
Fire safety awareness events planned for the Nov. 17 event include a Washington Township Fire Safety Resource table from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., the construction of a 3D corrugated fire truck for children from 9 to 10 a.m. and fire safety story time at 10 a.m. from Columbus firefighters.
Free home fire extinguisher inspection and recharging will be done from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and a fire extinguisher training demonstration will be held at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Firefighters and their trucks will also be on hand from 1 to 3 p.m. to talk about their daily activities.
During the event, adults and children can also write letters to local firefighters that will be delivered over with sandwiches. Visitors can create gifts for patients of the Nationwide Children's Hospital burn unit.
Christine's Christmas Concert is slated for Saturday, Dec. 8 at the Capitol Theatre at the Riffe Center. For more information on the concert, look at christinewilsonfoundation.org.
