The Central Ohio Crime Stoppers have joined the effort to find a man who went missing in Dublin last month.
A $4,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the whereabouts of Siva Kumar Singh-Gadwal, a 57-year-old from India who disappeared Dec. 11, while visiting family.
Central Ohio Crime Stoppers has put up a $1,000 reward for information and Gadwal's family has matched that. The employer of Singh-Gadwal's son-in-law is providing the other $2,000.
Gadwal was in Dublin visiting his daughter and son-in-law at their Perimeter Drive apartment complex when he disappeared Dec. 11 during an afternoon walk.
Public information officer Megan Canavan said the Dublin Police have searched for the man, but turned up little information.
"We've searched by air and we then searched by land with canine units," she said.
"We also searched different bodies of water in Dublin in about a mile radius from where he disappeared from."
Dublin Police have also contacted other agencies for assistance.
"We've worked with BCI and Interpol," Canavan said.
Its unlikely, however, Gadwal could return to India.
"Siva left his passport at the apartment," Canavan said. "The only item we suspect he took with him is cash."
Gadwal is 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighs about 130 pounds and has a white beard and mustache.
He speaks English and was wearing a black sweater, blue pants, glasses and a black turban when he disappeared.
By working with Central Ohio Crime Stoppers, the family and Dublin Police are hoping to turn up new tips.
"We're hoping to get information or a tip that will lead us to more information about his whereabouts," Canavan said.
