iPhones are reported stolen from students
An iPhone was reported stolen from Dublin Scioto High School, 4000 Hard Road, between 2:43 and 2:45 p.m. Feb. 21.
According to Dublin police reports, a student left the iPhone on his desk when he left the class.
A few minutes later when the student realized he left it in the room, he returned and discovered it was missing.
In a second incident, two iPhones were reported stolen from Sells Middle School, 150 W. Bridge St. from students between 1:30 and 5:30 p.m. Feb. 23.
According to police reports, a juvenile was arrested in the middle school thefts and committed to the diversion program.
In a third incident an iPhone was reported stolen from a student at Coffman High School, 6780 Coffman Road, between 5 and 6:30 p.m. Feb. 13.
The student said the phone could have fallen out of his pocket or been taken from his pocket when his pants were unsecured in a locker room.
* Breaking and entering was reported at a business in the 4300 block of Tuller Road between 12:42 and 12:52 a.m. Feb. 22.
When police arrived doors to the business had been kicked open and it appeared files had been ransacked. Nothing was reported stolen, police reports said.
* Extortion was reported Feb. 22 when a man went to the police station and said a former employee of a business in the 4100 block of Tuller Road was trying to extort him by stealing client information and other intellectual property between Feb. 8 and 22.
* Three tires on a vehicle parked in the 7800 block of Bartles Avenue had holes poked in them between 11:45 p.m. Feb. 23 and 6 a.m. Feb. 24, police reports said.
A circular saw was reported stolen from a residence in the 7400 block of Riverside Drive between 12:01 a.m. Feb. 11 and 12:01 a.m. Feb. 15.
* Four cartons of cigarettes were reported stolen from a business in the 3700 block of Dublin-Granville Road between 6:05 and 6:06 p.m. Feb. 25.
According to police reports a man entered the store and went to a back room that is designated employees only and began concealing cigarettes on himself.
He was asked to leave and took the cigarettes without paying.
*A TV, valued at $700, was reported stolen from a storage unit in the 6400 block of Avery Road between 7 p.m. Feb. 26 and 5:45 p.m. Feb. 28.
