Resident scares off two would-be burglars March 6

Dublin police reported a resident of the 5500 block of Adventure Drive heard banging at a back door to her residence between 10:04 and 10:06 a.m. March 6 and when she went to investigate, discovered two white males in the home.

The would-be burglars fled and nothing was stolen, police reports said.

In other recent Dublin Division of Police incident reports:

* A resident of the 4600 block of Donegal Cliffs Drive reported someone fraudulently filed a tax return in her name and had the return put into an unknown bank account between Feb. 1 and March 1. The IRS also is investigating, reports said.

* A black Dodge Ram was stolen from the 7200 block of Sawmill Road between 4 and 9:30 p.m. March 5. The owner discovered the truck was stolen when he went to leave work, reports said.

* An iPhone and keys were reported stolen from a duffel bag left unattended at Coffman High School, 6780 Coffman Road between 5:55 and 8 p.m. March 4.

The keys subsequently were used to get into a vehicle and steal a wallet containing cash and credit cards and a pair of shoes, police reports said.

* An iPhone was reported stolen from a resident at a business in the 5100 block of Upper Metro Place at 11:30 a.m. March 3. The victim told police she sat her phone down momentarily while flavoring her coffee and found it stolen seconds later.

* Nine minors were cited for underage drinking at a residence in the 6900 block of Gullway Bay Drive between 1:55 and 3:30 a.m. March 30.

An adult also received a summons for contributing to unruliness or delinquency of a child. The minors were released to their parents.

* A pair of ear buds, valued at $189, were reported stolen from a locked room at a business in the 5100 block of Upper Metro Place between 1 and 8:15 a.m. March 3.

* A pair of black pants and $275 were reported stolen from a locked room at a business in the 600 block of Metro Place North between 11 p.m. March 1 and 6 p.m. March 3.

* A tennis ball machine, valued at $6,495, was reported stolen from a vehicle parked at a business in the 5600 block of Blazer Memorial Parkway between 10 p.m. March 2 and 10 a.m. March 3.

The reporting party said other tools and electrical items were stolen, and a list would be complied for police.

* A gun was stolen from the center console of a vehicle parked in the 7500 block of Hospital Drive between 10:30 a.m. and noon March 1.

* An iPad, purse, sunglasses and clothing valued at $350, were reported stolen from a vehicle parked at a business in the 6600 block of Dublin Center Drive. The lock of the driver's side door was punched out to get into the car.

* A satellite phone and several tools were stolen from a vehicle parked in the 600 block of Metro Place North between 5:30 p.m. March 4 and 7 a.m. March 5.

* A circular saw and palm sander were stolen from a residence in the 7400 block of Riverside Drive between 12:01 a.m. March 4 and 12:01 a.m. March 5.
