Memorial Tournament program helps teach golf

Saturday April 27, 2013 8:04 PM

St. Brigid of Kildare Catholic School students will take a swing at golf, thanks to the Memorial Tournament.

The school's physical education teacher Mary Beckwith attended a Memorial's Clubhouse Kids Golf Tour recently and will get $3,000 in equipment from the Memorial Tournament.

The Memorial's Clubhouse Kids Golf Tour is a program that helps educators teach fundamentals and etiquette of golf as part of the physical education class.

The program and equipment will help Beckwith incorporate golf into classes.

A golf professional also visited the school last week to work with first- and second-grade students at St. Brigid.
