Dublin: Officers investigating reports of thefts from mailboxes

Wednesday May 1, 2013 12:43 PM

Dublin and Hilliard police officers are working to find a suspected mail thief.

Both police departments have recently received calls regarding mail being stolen from residential mailboxes.

April 16, Dublin police received two calls reporting mail stolen from mailboxes on Nassau Loop, a news release from the city said.

Reports said one witness reported an older green van driven by a black female.

April 22, Hilliard police received a call from a resident who saw a black woman in a green van pull up to his mail box, open it to look at the mail and then drive away.

The man took a photo of the suspect's van -- a 1996 green Plymouth minivan with lower gray trim, the release said. The van did not have a front license plate and is missing the fuel door on the driver's side.

Anyone with information about the vehicle can call the Dublin Police at 614-889-1112.
