Tolles students place first at landscaping

Students enrolled at Tolles Career and Technical Center in the Sports Turf & Landscape Management program captured first place in the State Nursery & Landscape Contest.

The team, consisting of Jason Hara of Hilliard Davidson; Jacob Hitch and Anthony Rossetti of Hilliard Darby; and Jess Maslar of Dublin Scioto, competed against 34 other teams from across Ohio.

Jason Hara placed first high individual; Jacob Hitch third high; Anthony Rossetti earned fourth high individual; and Jess Maslar placed 12th in the state out of more than 240 contestants. Additionally, the team swept the state competition by placing first in each of the hands-on skills events.

The team has now earned the right to represent the state of Ohio this coming October at the National Nursery & Landscape contest which will be held during the National FFA Convention in Louisville, Ky.

This year's accomplishments marks the fifth consecutive year that the Tolles program has placed either first or second in Ohio.
