Muirfield Village Golf Club will host a charity golf classic benefiting the homeless July 29.
The National Church Residences annual Golf Classic raises money for the company's seven permanent supportive housing communities and has so far raised more than $330,000.
"Hosting our annual Golf Classic at Muirfield Village Golf Club provides a distinctive opportunity for donors to play a world-renowned golf course and support our efforts to provide permanent supportive housing for individuals, with a special focus on veterans, who are disabled and chronically homeless," Jeff Wolf, senior vice president of philanthropy and communications at National Church Residences said in a news release.
Steve Lopez, author of The Soloist, will be the keynote speaker at the dinner held after golf has been played at the July 29 event.
The Soloist is the story of homelessness and mental illness and was made into a movie in 2009.
