Dublin: Would-be diamond thieves are sought

Dublin Police are still seeking information about two suspects that tried to steal a diamond from a business in the 4100 block of W. Dublin-Granville Road between 3:48 and 3:51 p.m. Aug. 19.

Two men entered the business and one asked to see a diamond valued at $12,295.

The other man then grabbed the diamond and fled the business.

An employee followed the men and got the diamond back before the two suspects fled.

In other recent Dublin Police reports:

* A vehicle was stolen from a business in the 6400 block of Perimeter Loop Road between 8 a.m. July 10 and 3 p.m. July 11.

Keys to the vehicle were sitting on a desk in a common area of the business and both the car and keys were stolen.

* A saw, nail gun, stereo and $550 in money orders were stolen from a vehicle parked at a residence in the 5400 block of Armistead Lane between 10 p.m. Aug. 4 and 10:30 a.m. Aug. 5.

A window was broken to get into the vehicle.

* The window of a vehicle parked in the 6300 block of Woerner-Temple Road was broken and a purse containing a wallet, glasses, $20 and other items was stolen between 5:45 and 6:25 p.m. Aug. 19.

* Dublin Police responded to a burglar alarm at a business in the 5500 block of Blazer Memorial Parkway at 1:25 a.m. Aug. 22.

Reports said officers found pry marks on a back door, but the door was still locked. When an employee arrived he said nothing was believed to be missing.

* A laptop was stolen from a business in the 6700 block of Sawmill Road between 5:30 and 6:15 p.m. Aug. 16 when it was left in a waiting area.

The reporting party accidentally left without his laptop and it was stolen.
