Irish Festival receives more international honors

The Dublin Irish Festival took eight awards at the International Festivals and Events Association Convention and Expo this month.

IFEA Haas and Wilkerson Pinnacle Awards were presented at the annual convention held in Pittsburgh, Pa., and are judged on creativity, message, design, overall appeal and measurable results, a news release from Dublin said.

The Irish Festival earned gold awards for the Best Event Website and Best Event within an existing festival for the International Highland Games Federation Women's World Team Championships.

The festival took silver Pinnacle Awards in Best Social Media site for the Dublin Irish Festival Facebook page, Best New Promotion for the Columbus Clippers Irish Heritage Night and Best New Merchandise for the DIF canteen.

Two bronze awards were also given to the city for best T-shirt design and best miscellaneous clothing for a ladies tank top.

The city also won a silver award for Best Event Photograph at the St. Patrick's Day Inflation Celebration.
