The Jerome High School Marching Band took home top honors from the Ohio Music Education Association contest at the Hilliard Marching Band Invitational.
The marching band was named Grand Champion at the Sept. 21 contest at Hilliard Bradley High School and earned enough points to qualify for the OMEA State Marching Contest Nov. 2.
With its show, based on the music of French composer Maurice Ravel, the band also took first place overall in Class AA, won Outstanding Music, Outstanding General Effect, Outstanding Auxiliary and first place for Auxiliary in Class AA.
The Jerome High School Marching Band includes 150 musicians and colorguard members.
Director Brian Stevens and Assistant Director Micah Abrams lead the students.
The Jerome High School Marching Band will perform with the Dublin Coffman and Dublin Scioto marching bands at the Oct. 24 Dublin Marching Band Showcase.
