Jerome gets highest score at OSU fest
The highest score at an Oct. 12 Ohio State University Marching Band Invitational went to the Dublin Jerome High School Marching Band.
In Class AA, the category for the largest school enrollment, the Jerome Marching Band earned the highest score and earned Best Marching and Best General Effect for the show "unRavel'd."
The Jerome Marching Band's show is based on the work of French composed Maurice Ravel and includes dancing and high steps.
"The Dublin Jerome Marching Band places a strong emphasis on physicality in their show that develops through basic calisthenics, running and strength exercises," Assistant Band Director Micah Abrams said in a release from the band.
"These levels of physical fitness, while combined with more specific body awareness and movement quality training, prevent injury and ensure success during our long season of performances."
The Jerome Marching Band's next competitions include the Bloom Carroll Marching Band Competition, the Tri-Valley Competition and State Marching Band Competition.
