Man eats box of mints then leaves store without paying

An 18-year-old Dublin man was arrested after he ate a box of mints at a business in the 7600 block of Sawmill Road without paying for them between 5 and 5:05 p.m. Nov. 25.

When the store's loss prevention officer approached the man in the parking lot, he found out the man was carrying a hand gun.

Reports said police were called and the man was arrested.

Another man took a bottle of whiskey from the same store at 2:28 p.m. Nov. 26 without paying.

The loss prevention officer stopped the man in the parking lot and called police.

In other recent Dublin police reports:

* A purse hidden under a car seat was stolen between 3 and 6 p.m. Nov. 25 from a car parked at a business in the 7100 block of Corazon Drive.

A window was broken to get into the car, according to reports.

* The window of a vehicle parked at a residence in the 3000 block of Dunlavin Way was broken between 9 p.m. Nov. 25 and 7:30 a.m. Nov. 26.

Nothing of value was believed to have been stolen from the vehicle according to reports.
