Jewish Community Center of Greater Columbus, Old Columbus Jews Telling Jokes-karaoke-style joke fest, 8 p.m. Jan. 18, at the JCC, 1125 College Ave. The event honors the life and comedy of the late Sam Gordon, a jokester and JCC regular. Emcee Marcie Golden will tell a few of her own jokes in between introducing other performers. A cash bar and refreshments will be available. Classes and workshops

Faith Community Church, "Soul Care for Children," 11:30 a.m. Sundays starting Jan. 12 at Faith Community Church, 5762 Wilcox Road. The class will be led by the Rev. Ryan Pflum and will cover a number of topics, including the foundations of spiritual parenting, what can be learned from children in the Bible and Christian tradition, the role of the church in caring for children, and spiritual formation in the family. Health

Crosswoods Pediatrics, Walk with a Doc program, 10 a.m. every Thursday at Coffman Park, 5568 Emerald Parkway. Meet at Coffman Pavilion. The walks are free for anyone interested in taking steps to improve their health. A doctor will be on hand to answer any questions and talk with people during the event.
