The Emerald Celebration will take on a chrome shine this year as it switches date and location.

The 2014 fundraiser for the Dublin Foundation will be held April 26 at the Midwestern Auto Group's newly expanded Perimeter Loop Road location.

"The Dublin Foundation is looking to partner with so many businesses and other organizations," foundation Executive Director Stacey Kuzda said.

"Partnering with a local company will allow both the company and Dublin Foundation to gain exposure for each other."

The partnership came about through a friendship between foundation board member Tim Long and MAG CFO Sean McCarthy.

"He approached me to see if we had any interest," McCarthy said.

The hosting plan was put into place after it got the OK from MAG owner Mark Brentlinger, McCarthy said.

"Obviously, MAG has been in Dublin for a long, long time," he said.

"We're a very important part of the community and we really like to support it," he said. "When we were approached we thought it was a win-win for all sides. It gives us a chance to show off the facilities we have and give back and do something good for the community."

MAG's expanded space, -- which will include new BMW, Mini and Audi stores -- is expected to open next month.

"We have lots of extra space now and we're able to provide more customer support than we've provided in the past," McCarthy said of the expansion. "We hope folks come and check it out."

With new digs for the Emerald Celebration, Kuzda said the planning committee decided to move the date to April instead of late February to allow more time for setting up the fundraiser.

The date and new space for the Emerald Celebration will likely be the biggest changes for the fundraiser.

"We're trying to keep the integrity of the event the same because it has been so successful for so many years, but we're also planning a few new things here and there," Kuzda said.

The event will include a VIP reception with appetizers and a meet-and-greet with prominent Dublin residents.

Columbus-based Lt. Dan's New Legs will provide music at the event as well.

The Emerald Celebration is the Dublin Foundation's biggest fundraiser of the year and helps support grants to organizations in the community.

Tickets are expected to go on sale within the next month or two. The planning committee is currently accepting event sponsors. More information about the Emerald Celebration or the Dublin Foundation is available online at
