Jewish Community Center of Greater Columbus, Old Columbus Jews Telling Jokes-karaoke-style joke fest, 8 p.m. Jan. 18, at the JCC, 1125 College Ave. The event honors the life and comedy of the late Sam Gordon, a jokester and JCC regular. Emcee Marcie Golden will tell a few of her own jokes in between introducing other performers. A cash bar and refreshments will be available. Conversations in the Humanities: Exploring Eastern Faith Traditions, 7:30 p.m. Jan. 22, at First Community Church North Campus, 3777 Dublin Road, Columbus. A panel discussion will feature central Ohio representatives of four Eastern religions: Hindu, Jain, Sikh and Tibetan Buddhist. Participants will learn about these faith traditions in a conversation moderated by OSU Humanities Institute associate Fred Andrle. Questions posed by audience members will be included. Program sponsors include the Ohio State University Humanities and the Center for Spiritual Search at First Community Church. This event is free and open to the public.
