Dublin honored for its top healthy workplaces

Dublin last week was recognized as a 2014 Healthiest 100 Workplace in America by Healthiest Employers.

The award recognizes employers that incorporate "the most effective employee wellness programs and practices," a news release from the city said.

"The Healthiest 100 have successfully implemented practical effective and continuously improving corporate wellness strategies for creating a sustainably healthy workplace."

Dublin has a Healthy by Choice program for employees, offers free membership to its recreation center, wellness classes and other benefits.

"We are proud to once again be recognized as one of the healthiest workplaces in America," City Manager Marsha Grigsby said in the release.

"We not only want to give employees the means to get and stay healthy, we want Dublin to be a workplace and a city environment that fosters healthy living," Grigsby said.

"This award recognizes that. We are honored to be one of only two cities recognized for this honor."

The award follows a bronze-level accreditation from HealthLead.
