Three robotics teams headed to state

Three Dublin FIRST Lego League Robotics teams qualified for state competition at a Jan. 11 district contest.

At the Jan. 11 district competition held at Jerome High School, 10 Dublin teams were among 23 vying for one of seven spots at the state contest.

At the competition, three Dublin teams earned spots at the state competition and six teams earned awards.

The ImagiNeers, Mindstorm Megabytes and ProBotz will advance to the state competition.

Dublin teams that earned awards at the tournament include Colchis Bulls with the Inspiration Award, Mindstorm Megabytes with the Gracious Professionalism Award, ImagiNeers who took the Mentor and Robot Performance awards, ProBotz with the Project Presentation Award, the Aztecs took the Robot Mechanical Design Award and Celtic Storm won the Robot Strategy and Innovation awards.

The Dublin team Lost in LEGO, based at Davis Middle School, also qualified for the state competition at the Ohio Youth Robotics District tournament in Dayton.
