Work on the final phase of Emerald Parkway will interrupt traffic at the Riverside Drive and Emerald Parkway intersection starting Feb. 17.
Contractors working on the eighth and final phase of Emerald Parkway will begin four to six weeks of bedrock blasting Feb. 17, with blasting slated to occur at noon and 3:30 p.m.
Traffic at the Riverside Drive and Emerald Parkway intersection will be stopped about three minutes before each blast. No traffic will be allowed to move through the intersection until an all clear signal has been given, a news release from the city said.
Traffic on Interstate-270 will not be impacted.
As the bedrock blasting moves away from the intersection of Emerald Parkway and Riverside Drive, stopping traffic will not be necessary, the release said.

The final phase of Emerald Parkway will take the road from Tuttle Crossing to Sawmill Road and open about 115 acres of land for commercial development.
