Education partnership earns award

A partnership between Dublin City Schools and Miami University earned an award from the Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools and Educational Testing Service.

The award for excellence and innovation in graduate education was given to the partnership between the district and Miami's Department of Education Leadership for a program that allows Dublin City Schools staffers to earn a master of education degree, a news release from Miami University said.

The award-winning program that allows Dublin administrators and educators to get the education to become a principal was started four years ago by former Dublin City Schools Superintendent David Axner.

The 33-hour program is open to educators with at least three years of K-12 teaching experience with aspirations to be a principal.
