Columbus Museum of Art, docent program open house, 6 to 7:30 p.m. July 31 at 480 E. Broad St. Current docents and museum staff will answer questions and provide tours through the galleries. Participants complete a nine-month training process. Docent candidates must commit to two years of touring and continuing education after training. Applications are due Aug. 8. Friends of the Shelter, PupArt, 6 to 9:30 p.m. Aug. 12 at the Dublin Arts Council, 7125 Riverside Drive. The event will feature music, art, appetizers and wine. Guests can take part in a silent auction of pet-related and other original artwork and meet adoptable dogs. Proceeds help support sick and injured dogs at the Franklin County Dog Shelter. AARP Foundation Senior Community Service Employment Program helps unemployed Franklin, Delaware and Licking county workers age 55 and over secure employment. The program offers paid work experience, specialized training, upgrading of skills and job-search assistance. Age, income and residency requirements apply. Classes and workshops

Heart of Ohio Tole Chapter, painting class, July 19 at the Northeast Conference Center, 4140 Executive Parkway, Westerville. Social time and check in will run from 8:30 to 10 a.m., followed by a meeting, lunch and painting session until 4 p.m. Helen Maurer from Dublin will teach an owl project using fabric paint. Thank Dog Bootcamp, a fitness program that combines a workout with basic obedience for both dogs and their people, 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Homestead Park and 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Wendy's Corporate Campus on Dublin-Granville Road. Dublin Community Recreation Center, weekly line dancing class for beginners, 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Sundays, 5600 Post Road. This class will introduce people of all ages to modern social line dancing, with no line dance experience necessary. Cost is $3 per class. This class is offered in addition to a Beginner/Improver class from 1 to 3 p.m. Fridays and a more advanced class at 2 p.m. Sundays. Music is not limited to country alone.
