Dublin Villager

Post Office may be named to honor fallen soldiers

U.S. Congressman Pat Tiberi (R-Genoa Township) is working to name the Dublin post office after two fallen military members.

Tiberi recently introduced a bill to name the U.S. Post Office at 715 Shawan Falls Drive the Lance Cpl. Wesley G. Davids and Capt. Nicholas J. Rozanski Memorial Post Office.

Davids, a 2003 Scioto High School graduate, was killed at age 20 during fighting in Karabilah, Iraq. Davids was a member of the U.S. Marine Corps Lima Company.

Rozanski died in 2012 while serving with the Ohio National Guard in Afghanistan. The 1995 Dublin High School graduate also served in Kosovo, Iraq and Kuwait.

"These two young men put their country before themselves and made the ultimate sacrifice," Tiberi said in a news release from his office.

"We honor and remember Lance Cpl. Wesley Davids and Capt. Nicholas Rozanski for their sacrifice and their families' sacrifices by recognizing them in their hometown.

"Generations to come will know the bravery and heroism of these two young men."

The bill, H.R. 4919, is being sponsored by all Ohio representatives, with the exception of John Boehner.

As Speaker of the House, Boehner does not usually sponsor legislation.
