Swing music on the bill for Sunday at Scioto concert

Swing's the thing with music and dancing at the July 27 Dublin Arts Council Sundays at Scioto concert.

At 7 p.m. Sunday, in the outdoor amphitheater at Scioto Park, 7377 Riverside Drive, In Full Swing will provide entertainment and members of SwingColumbus will be on hand for dancing.

In Full Swing is a 16-piece central Ohio band that performs big band music from today and the 1930s and 1940s.

Before the free concert begins at 7 p.m., SwingColumbus will offer free dance lessons from 5:30 to 6 p.m. for audience members 8 years old and older.

Prior dance experience and a partner aren't required, although leather-soled shoes are recommended because dancing will be done in the grass.

Members of SwingColumbus also will encourage people to dance during the concert, which runs until about 8:30 p.m.

Concert-goers are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket for seating at the outdoor venue.

The Cheesy Truck, Bleu 7 Fig and Jeni's Ice Creams will be selling dinner and dessert items, with proceeds benefiting the Dublin Arts Council.

Any concert delay or cancellation because of weather will be posted on the Dublin Arts Council voicemail at 614-889-7444, on the Dublin Arts Council Facebook page, on Twitter @DublinArts or online at dublinarts.org.
