The defending Division II state champion Dublin Jerome High School boys lacrosse team is back in the state tournament after beating visiting DeSales 14-7 in a regional final May 28.

Christian Beith scored five goals and Leo Horine had four goals and one assist for the Celtics, who improved to 17-1 and will play June 1 at Cincinnati Summit Country Day in a state semifinal. The state final is June 4 at Westerville Central.

"It felt like we controlled the game," Jerome coach A.J. Auld said. "We had a lot of respect for (DeSales) and our defense stepped up big time."

The Celtics opened a 14-2 lead with 7 minutes, 54 seconds remaining. The Stallions scored five goals in the final four minutes.

Anthony Ciammaichella, Jack Slomsky and J.T. Blubaugh each scored two goals for the Stallions, who finished 16-2.

Nick Simonetti had 13 saves for Jerome and Tyler McClary had nine saves for DeSales.
