Scioto looking to end skid

The Dublin Scioto High School hockey team continues to struggle.

The Irish lost to Cincinnati Moeller 14-0 on Jan. 11 and Worthington Kilbourne 10-0 on Jan. 12 to fall to 1-19 overall and 0-12 in the CHC-Blue Division. They have lost 16 consecutive games.

Scioto will play three games this weekend at the Toledo Ice Haus. It faces Cincinnati Elder on Friday, Jan. 18, and Toledo Ottawa Hills and Perrysburg on Saturday, Jan. 19.

Celtics remain in hunt for league title

Jerome went 1-0-1 in league games last weekend to stay in contention for the CHC-Red Division championship.

The Celtics defeated Upper Arlington 2-1 on Jan. 11, as forwards Alex Cathis and James Eastep each scored and goaltender Shawn Ewert had 18 saves. The next day, they tied Olentangy Liberty at 2, as forwards Lucas Brush and Alex Booth scored and goalie Connor Willette had 22 saves.

Jerome is second in the CHC-Red at 9-1-2 (20 points) behind Liberty (10-0-1-1, 22). The teams meet again Jan. 27.
