Seven Dublin Coffman High School football players made their college selections Feb. 6.
Offensive lineman Zack Murdock signed to play at Ohio University, offensive lineman Michael Robinson signed with Butler University in Indianapolis, quarterback James Walsh signed to play at Boston College and running back Bilal Williamson signed to play at Morehead (Ky.) State University.
Defensive lineman Vinny Jones and wide receiver Austen Rankin signed with Tiffin, a Division II school.
Defensive lineman Miles McCollum chose Harvard in Cambridge, Mass.
Coffman finished 9-2 overall after losing to Hilliard Davidson 17-14 in the opening round of the Division I playoffs. The Shamrocks tied Davidson for first in the OCC-Central Division at 6-1.
Walsh originally committed to Ohio University, but had a change of heart headed to Boston College for a chance to play in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Also, his father, Kevin Walsh, has been working in Boston.
Walsh was special mention all-district and first-team all-league, passing for 128 of 213 passing for 2,038 yards 16 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He also rushed for 558 yards and eight touchdowns on 109 carries.
Williamson was second-team all-district and first-team all-league by rushing for 1,402 yards and 24 touchdowns on 192 carries. He had 13 receptions for 244 yards and two scores.
Murdock was special mention all-state, first-team all-district and honorable mention all-league. Robinson was honorable mention all-district and second-team all-league.
McCullom was third-team all-state, first-team all-district and shared OCC-Central Player of the Year honors with Davidson’s E.J. Jennings. He had 34 tackles, 16 for loss, as well as seven sacks and one fumble recovery.
Rankin was second-team all-league, catching 38 passes for 606 yards and six touchdowns. Jones was special mention all-league with 41 tackles, nine for loss and two sacks.
