Pearson named Jerome coach


Jamie Pearson has been hired to coach the Dublin Jerome High School boys basketball team.

In 2010-11, he coached the Granville boys team to a 17-7 record. He also has been an assistant at Coffman, where he teaches radio and television

“Jamie has great energy,” athletics director Ryan Walker said. “He has the desire to build a strong and lasting program at Jerome.”

The Celtics finished 7-15 overall last season under Dave Hale, who led the program for three seasons.

Jerome tied Worthington Kilbourne for sixth (4-10) in the OCC-Cardinal Division, behind Westerville North (14-0), Scioto (11-3), Westerville South (9-5), Hilliard Darby (8-6) and Westerville Central (6-8) and ahead of Hilliard Bradley (0-14).

Expected back for the Celtics are junior forwards Connor Kerns (8.9 points per game) and Thomas Menker and freshman guards Mason Baich (8.1) and Seve Stavroff (4.6).
