Shamrocks seeking tourney momemtum

The Dublin Coffman High School softball team entered the final week of the regular season looking to gain momentum for the Division I district tournament.

The Shamrocks won a pair of OCC-Central Division games last week, defeating Central Crossing 8-5 on May 1 and Westland 9-2 on May 3.

Coffman is seeded 26th in the tournament and will play host to 31st-seeded Franklin Heights in the first round Tuesday, May 14.

The winner plays at second-seeded Grove City in the second round May 16.

Jerome is seeded 20th and visits 15th-seeded Chillicothe in the first round Tuesday, May 14. The winner plays 11th-seeded Westerville Central or 38th-seeded Reynoldsburg in the second round May 16.

Jerome lost to Central 2-1 in an OCC-Cardinal game April 22. The teams played again May 8.

The Celtics split a pair of games with Whitehall on May 4, losing the first game 15-9 and winning the second game 10-0 in five innings.

Scioto is seeded 35th and visits 17th-seeded Westerville South in the first round Tuesday, May 14.

The Irish lost to the Wildcats 30-0 in five innings April 16 and 6-0 on May 2 in OCC-Cardinal games.

The winner plays 10th-seeded Teays Valley or 39th-seeded Marion-Franklin in the second round May 16.
