The Dublin Jerome High School field hockey team pushed fourth-seeded Olentangy Liberty in a district semifinal Oct. 22 before losing 1-0.

Goalkeeper Prathibha Srikantan had 10 saves for the seventh-seeded Celtics, who finished 12-6.

Midfielder Dani Bursinger scored and goalie Maddie Passerella had 10 saves for the host Patriots, who improved to 13-2-2.

"I am extremely happy with how the girls played," said Celtics coach Colleen Bender, whose team also had lost to Liberty during the regular season, falling 3-2 on Sept. 12. "It was a total team effort. I could not be more proud and pleased with how they did the entire season.

"Prathibha Srikantan had a phenomenal game. She has improved so much over the past four years and her performance was outstanding. We played with intensity and had many opportunities to score and their goalkeeper made some great saves. Every girl on that field played their hearts out and we just came up short."
