Division I awaits four Coffman players

Four members of the Dublin Coffman High School girls soccer program have signed to play at the Division I collegiate level.

Sam Edwards and Brynn Schlemitz will play at Ohio State, Jesse Schaefer will play at St. John’s and Amanda Stratton will play at Lehigh.

They helped lead Coffman to its third consecutive OCC-Central Division title last fall. The Shamrocks lost to Marysville 2-0 in a Division I district final, ending their streak of four consecutive district titles.

Edwards, a forward, had 17 goals and 14 assists and was named state, district and league Player of the Year. She also was captain of ThisWeek's Super 12 team for the second consecutive season.

Stratton, a defender, was first-team all-district and all-league and second-team all-state. Schlemitz, a midfielder, was first-team all-league and second-team all-district, and Schaefer, a defender, was second-team all-league.
