Dublin Coffman High School baseball coach Tim Saunders has reached a milestone, earning his 500th career win with his team's 10-4 victory over host Hilliard Davidson on April 10.

Saunders, who is in his 26th season at Coffman, has 464 victories with the Shamrocks after picking up 36 wins in four seasons at Pomeroy Meigs. He entered the season with 496 career wins.

“Most of this is a reflection of all the years you put in,” Saunders said of reaching the milestone. “It takes a long time. Some people get there quicker than others. The majority doesn’t ever get there. I just feel blessed to be at a good school that has won a lot of games.”

His 499th win came April 9 when Joey Murray pitched a no-hitter in a 5-0 home win over Davidson.
