A community reception is scheduled for 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 1, for Jefferson Elementary School teacher Nadine Mehl, who will retire at the end of the school year.

The 2008 BIA Parade of Homes will be held at the Village at Hannah Farms in the city of Gahanna in June, and will feature herb gardens and other activities in line with Gahanna's reputation as the "Herb Capital of Ohio."

The seven houses on the tour will be open from noon to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday from June 14 through June 29.

All homes are on the Hannah Farms site, at the corner of Clark State and Reynoldsburg-New Albany roads in Gahanna.

Each house on the tour will feature an herb garden, and herbs will be integrated into the design of community common areas. Also, a tent pavilion will house daily herbal demonstrations and hands-on activities using herbs. Several local chefs will also use the homes' kitchens to prepare meals using herbs.

Tickets are $10 per person at the door, and $6 for groups of 15 or more.
