Gahanna City Council is considering a measure that would be designed to bring all of the city's advertising efforts under one umbrella.

In a presentation made last week, city officials said the idea is to enter into a contract with Falhgren Mortine Public Relations to analyze all of the advertising done by the city, nonprofit groups such as the Gahanna Chamber of Commerce and businesses. The company then would be asked to recommend effective and efficient ways to coordinate efforts.

The money to pay for the $18,500 contract would come from the bed tax, which is collected on visitors to the city's hotels, Mayor Becky Stinchcomb said. That money must be used on boosting tourism.
