The Girl Scout Bronze Award, the highest recognition for Junior Girl Scouts, recently went to 16 members of Troop 2052 at a Court of Awards Ceremony held at Creekside Park.

The award recognizes the individual Girl Scout's effort to develop leadership and planning skills necessary to follow through on a project that makes a positive impact on her community.

The troop members are fifth-graders at Chapelfield Elementary. For their project, they created reasonably priced, handmade items for the school's annual holiday gift shop.

The girls involved younger troops, and organized and led many workshops.
