The annual Labor Day Weekend Powwow will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, and run through the three-day weekend at the Franklin County Fairgrounds, 4100 Columbia St. in Hilliard.

The annual Labor Day Weekend Powwow will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, and run through the three-day weekend at the Franklin County Fairgrounds, 4100 Columbia St. in Hilliard.

Sponsored by the Native American Indian Center of Central Ohio (NAICCO), the event features Native American music, dancing, arts, crafts and food. Dancers will make a grand entry at 1 p.m. each day and at 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The weekend also includes demonstrations and sales by local and national native artisans.

Admission is $7 for adults; $3 for seniors and students; and free for children age 5 and younger. Weekend passes are available for $15. Visitors should bring their own seating.

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium's Safari Golf Club will host the second annual Jungle Jack's Conservation Cup Friday, Sept. 11, with proceeds to benefit the Columbus Zoo's Conservation Endowment Fund.

Events will kick off at 11 a.m. at the club, 4853 Powell Road. A shotgun start is scheduled for 1 p.m.

The outing will include a meet-and-greet with Jack Hanna, lunch, raffle prizes, golf prizes and two chances to win a car with a hole-in-one. Golfers can also meet the zoo's promotion animals.

In line with the Conservation Cup name and the zoo's mission, this will be a completely green event, generating zero waste.

Church of the Redeemer United Methodist, 235 McNaughten Road, has scheduled two special events for September.

A golf outing will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, at Blacklick Woods Golf Course, 7309 E. Livingston Ave. A post-golf dinner and awards ceremony will follow at Beech Maple Lodge in Blacklick Park.
